Since the early 1990s, Valerie L. Williams (-Sanchez) has offered freelance writing services for small businesses in communities in and around Southern California. In 2005, that effort took on a new name and dimensions when she incorporated skills gained over more than a decade of professional work done at for-profit and non-profit companies in marketing and communications positions of increasing responsibility. Today, Valorena Online, L.L.C. Freelance Marketing and Communications is the moniker of the resulting venture that turns decades of professional experience into customized marketing and communications solutions.

Pronounced like "ballerina," Valorena is the nom de guerre given to Valerie by her tradesman/entrepreneur grandfather, New Orleans native, Anthony Marabou, whose words still ring true to this day: "Valorena Means Business."
